It is a 1949 Studebaker on a 1994 Dodge 3500 dually chassis with  a 12 valve Cummins. So,I named it STUDGE pronounced "stooge" for part Studebaker part Dodge.  The conversion was done by Mike Kelly and the guys at JMK Enterprises in B'ham. They really know their stuff! The frame was shortened 9 inches and the motor moved back 4 inches, and the bed was narrowed a foot in the front to match the cab!! I had Mike install a TST #6 230HP 605TQ kit and that really improved the performance. Mike also did the killer dowel pin fix.

My father-in-law gave me the Studebaker. It was an original 2R15 one ton stake bed with a flat head six and a granny 4spd. It was neat, but he was never able to drive it because it wasn't practical. He is happy to see his old truck on the road now, as it has all the comforts and drive of a newer truck. Mike was able to use the gauge cluster and wiring harness out of the Dodge so I still have cruise, anti-lock brakes etc... I bought a Vintage Air unit and Mike fabbed defrost ductwork and I have a good heating and air system. It is a blast to drive now and I get thumbs up everywhere I go!!

What a Classic!  Can't ever go wrong with a Cummins; excellent choice.  Nice.

Cool! That's really going to be sharp when it's finished.

Thanks TJ,

I'm gonna have to find an insurance company that'll allow more than 3 thousand miles a year, because I'm lovin driving this baby!!

Thanks Mad Jax,

I'm loving it more every day!!!

I just had a Jensen HD CD tuner and 4 Polk Audio speakers, along with a small sound ordnance sub installed.

I also had Mike at JMK build me a little console shelf across the windshield top front, for a little more storage since the cab is so small.
