My first diesel was my first and only truck. It was an '87 6.9L IDI, but it got me hooked. Unfortunately at almost 300K miles, the sidewinder turbo was too much for the head gaskets. So I upgraded to the 7.3L that I have now. It is for sure a work in progress, but I intend to make Jason Thompson's Project 300 look like a sis.
I just hope I don't share too many of my ideas with him before I can get mine done...
The end goal is a one of a kind utility truck that still looks like a cool farm truck but performs like a street truck.

I was just thinking. My 7.3L already will contain parts from 3 different years of trucks across a decade of production. It is starting to sound like that old country song about the cadillac.

Yeah I obviously have not swapped the bed over yet from my '87. 6.9L. I will have to see if I can find some photos of it to throw up for referece. I did go ahead and cut those hideous running boards off. It made the truck look about a foot taller when I did.

Glad to see you made it. That flatbed is an open canvas.

Looks like the battle of the two tones is on.
